On Sunday 24 November, we launched our first ever Christmas Festival in Stadium Park at Optus Stadium. As usual the Perth weather gods turned on a perfect sunny afternoon, with around 8,000 people making their way into Stadium Park to wander through the market stalls, grab the perfect Christmas gift, try all of the different tasty treats on offer from the food trucks and enjoy a drink from the pop-up bar.

The twinkle of the Stadium lights and roaming entertainment dazzled the crowds, while the Christmas flicks played on the BHP Amphitheatre Screen, making this the perfect location to grab a picnic blanket, park the family and settle in for the evening while the sun sets over the city.

The markets will run every Sunday up until 22 December, including Day 4 of the Domain Test Series.

The Christmas Festival wasn’t just about markets. We all know you can’t have Christmas without Santa, so forget the boring traditional shopping centre Christmas Photo. This year people can grab their 2019 Family photo inside the most beautiful Stadium in the world. Santa in the Stadium is proving a popular choice with families wanting to mix up their photo this year, with the diehard West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers fans also having the option to include their favourite team mascots in their photo with Santa.

To top it all off Christmas Twilight Tours proved to be popular once again this year, selling out in a record 12 hours. Our engaging tour leaders take Stadium fans on a behind the scenes tour, finishing with our famous light show which was bigger and better than ever with dancing elves and a dabbing Santa.
