And while fans will have to wait a little longer to cheer for their clubs at the ground, we’ve definitely got our work cut out for us, with the Stadium now home to five NRL clubs including the Parramatta Eels, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and Sydney Roosters.
The NRL has set an ambitious target of 1 July to begin welcoming crowds back inside the venue, and our team has been working hard on a number of strategies to help make it happen. They’re covering everything from ticket sales and seating, how bars and eateries will operate, flow of patrons in and out of aisles, to even trialling a germ-busting drone to spray sanitiser on the seats pre and post-game.
In the meantime, the colourful cardboard cut-out fans in the stands have proven to be a hit. And they don’t even mind the cold weather!
