Can you tell us a bit about your role?

What is the most common question you get in the IT department?

Can you please change this report to also show………?

What is your favourite part about working in IT?

I enjoy working on SQL Server and Power BI. It is interesting to see how unstructured data can be transformed to a meaningful report to provide business insights.

We hear you recently completed a Power BI training course. For those of us who don’t already know, what’s it about?

Power BI is a business analytics tool by Microsoft. It provides interactive visualisations and business intelligence capabilities with an interface simple enough for end users to create their own reports and dashboards. Power BI can help connect multiple data sets, transform and clean the data into a data model and create charts or graphs to provide visuals of the data. All of this can be shared with other Power BI users within the organisation.

How can it be used at VenuesLive?

To create a lot of reports and dashboards using various data sources. We can do predictive analysis and advanced reporting to check what can be done to improve the business revenue and reduce expense using the smart strategies.

Tell us something about yourself that we wouldn’t already know?

I have two lovely boys. The elder one Madhav is 8 years old and the younger one Udit is 4. I migrated from North India to Sydney around 10 years ago and recently received my Australian Citizenship.

What do you do to relax?

I like to meet my friends for coffee or lunch. I enjoy listening to music, watching television and going for walks.

What’s been your most interesting discovery over the past year?

That working from home is equally as good as working from the office. Often I finish a lot more work while working from home.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

I practice yoga and attend Bollywood dance classes. I would like to take up painting and singing as they bring me a lot of peace and happiness.

What does life look like when you’re not in the office?

Most often I can be found shopping somewhere.
