If the last 18 months have taught us anything, it is that times like these we need each other the most.
That’s why in August, the VenuesLive team came together in support of our Bankwest Stadium Charity Partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney, and their annual Earn Your Stripes campaign.
Dressed in our finest red and white – the official colours of RMCH – and a dazzling striped pitch courtesy of our incredible Grounds team, Bankwest Stadium helped launch the campaign which aims to raise awareness and much needed funds for the House.
And while we weren’t able to come together to celebrate the cause in New South Wales, a Teams Webinar was organised to get us involved.
Joining us on the call was Belinda Woolford, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney, who spoke of the importance of the Earn Your Stripes campaign, and 15-year-old Molly Croft from Dubbo, with her parents Ange and John.
Molly has an incredible story – a survivor of osteosarcoma (a rare and extremely aggressive bone cancer), she spent 292 nights with her family in RMCH while she underwent five major operations on her leg and a gruelling chemotherapy regime.
The family says that without Ronald McDonald House they would’ve lost their own home, and it kept them strong and together during the toughest times of their lives.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE GOES WHERE IT’S NEEDED MOST DURING NSW LOCKDOWN

The current COVID lockdown means our outlets and kitchens are closed for now, but there’s still an opportunity to do good in the community for our NSW Catering Team.
The management of our stock across the business has been well administered to date, with a majority of unopened stock being returned to suppliers for future credit.
However some inventory in our main storage areas at Stadium Australia were fast approaching use by dates and could not be returned.
So, in partnership with both FoodBank and Mama Lana’s – our regular food and beverage donation partners – we have been able to support their operations during this difficult time by contributing approximately $19,500 of food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Both Colin White and Ian Miller (under strict Covid protocols) have worked hard to prepare and load the unused stock into our partners vehicles and ensuring the food and beverages have made their way into the hands of people who need it most in a challenging time.
